Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress working in film and TV is best known for films like Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Being the sole daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra started her showbiz career at a young age. She was a lead actress in television dramas as early as the age of 16. Her fame was due to her performance as a character in Der Tunnel. This paved the way to other memorable roles, including Adolf Hitler's secretary of state Traudl Junge. The Reader is another Oscar nominated movie featuring this actress. Alexandra is known for her involvement in many important projects in both the US and internationally. These include British biographical films Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time as well as the French historic miniseries Napoleon among others. In addition, she is a jury member at two festivals: The Transylvania International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival.
